Peter Senftleben, assistant editor with Kensington Publishing, “the last remaining independent U.S. publisher of hardcover, trade and mass market paperback books” has been confirmed as the first editor who will be at the conference to take place on October 11th and 12th, 2013.

Mr. Senftleben will speak, and also take pitches.
OK; he is not going to take pictures, but pitches.
I am an experienced technical writer, but what is meant by pitches? Is it like ideas, proposed story lines, or what?
Thanks,
Charles
Charles, a “pitch” is an informal presentation of your story idea to an editor or agent with the intent of having him/her request to read your manuscript. They are brief, usually 5 to 10 minutes, and should cover the main themes/character conflicts in your book. The manuscript should be complete before pitching it to an editor or agent.
Hope this helps!
